[ She gestures vaguely. What year are you? How's your ramen? He can answer however he likes ]

I guess you could say I graduated.

[And without ever having to take a college entrance exam! He slurps beside her, answering any question she might have had about how his ramen is. It's good, like always.]

Did you get to hear Mitsuru-senpai's speech? I missed the closing ceremony.

No, I didn't get to.

[ She pokes at her egg yolk, it bleeds yellow into her soup. ]

I had to go meet a friend.

[ And because she feels right, she asks. ]

[There's a warmth to his voice when he says her name. Despite everything, he's so thankful he was able to spend those moments with her.]

[ She takes a big ol' bite of noodles before she answers. ]

[ And she smiles, so strained that her eyes close naturally. ]
